Privacy Policy for Farm Tracker
Core Promise: Farm Tracker is a strictly offline application. We do not operate remote servers, we do not require accounts or logins, and we never collect, upload, transmit, or sell your personal or financial data.
1. Overview & Data Ownership
Farm Tracker ("we," "our," or "the App") is developed to provide farmers, homesteaders, and growers with a standalone digital ledger to record income, expenses, crops, and livestock. Your data belongs exclusively to you and remains solely on your local device.
2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
All records created in Farm Tracker are stored in a local on-device SQLite database. This information includes:
- Financial Records: Income and expense amounts, transaction categories, dates, payment notes, and split allocations.
- Farm Profile & Inventory: Farm name, selected farming mode (crops, livestock, or mixed), currency preference, and records of crops, plots, animal tags, and herd groups.
- Receipt Images: Optional receipt photos selected from your gallery or taken with your camera. These files remain stored strictly within your app's local sandbox storage directory and are never uploaded to any cloud service.
- Security Credentials: If you enable PIN lock, your PIN hash is stored in hardware-backed secure storage on your device. If you use biometric unlock (Fingerprint / Face ID), authentication is performed entirely by your operating system; the App never has access to your raw biometric data.
3. Zero Data Collection & No Cloud Servers
To ensure complete privacy and full offline capability:
- We do not run external backend servers or cloud databases.
- We do not require you to create an account, register, or provide an email address to use the App.
- We do not include third-party advertising SDKs, data brokers, or monetization trackers.
- We do not embed third-party crash reporting or user behavior telemetry that phones home.
4. Device Permissions
Farm Tracker requests only minimal device permissions required for core local functionality:
- Camera / Photos / Media: Only requested when you choose to take or attach a receipt photo to an expense record.
- Biometrics: Only requested if you explicitly choose to secure the App with biometric lock.
5. Data Export & Sharing
You can export your transactions and reports as CSV spreadsheets or PDF documents at any time. When exported, the file is handed directly to your device's native operating system share menu. You choose the destination (such as saving to files, printing, or sending via your personal email/cloud app). We do not intercept or copy this data.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
Because all data resides exclusively on your local device, you have full control over data deletion. You can edit or delete individual records within the App at any time, or permanently delete all data by uninstalling the application or clearing the App's data in your Android system settings.
7. Children's Privacy
Farm Tracker does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect future updates. Any changes will be posted with an updated effective date. Since the App is offline, we recommend reviewing this policy periodically.
